March 18, 2023 [email protected] piano lessons bill withers, getting students to play softer, soft and slow

When my students always play fast and loud

I find something slow and soft for them to practice. I like Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers, because it has a very simple bass line and chord structure.

Three chords: A minor, D minor, E minor. Depending on their skill level I’ll have them do melody or chord in the right hand, and bass in the left hand.
